Murray State alone hosts over 300 students and each student has different interests whether that be sports, arts, or even vampires! The Governor’s Scholars Program has encouraged these interests with the inclusion of various clubs: Dungeons and Dragons, Jewelry Making, Juggling, Dance Moms, Twilight, I Like to Move it Move it, Stretching, Tennis, Fitness, Volleyball, Basketball, Prayer, Bible Study, Art, etc. Many students have even been trying new clubs that they never would have thought of if they didn’t come to GSP. “I’ve always had the desire to play Dungeons and Dragons. I grew up watching my brother play with his friends, so when I found out GSP had their own club, I decided it was my time to learn,” exclaimed Gabby MacAdams.

Overall clubs have become a hot commodity! One example of this popularity is the Jewelry Making Club, the first meeting was on June 30th and was filled with chaos, trinkets, and crafting. People were practically lined up out the door to gather supplies to make charm necklaces. Scholars rushed to Room 208 in hopes of getting a seat and materials in time. There were so many attendees that many students had to wait in line for several minutes just to get a pair of pliers. After the mayhem, scholars came out with beautiful creations of their own making. All across campus, you can see students wearing wire necklaces with their own special charms.
